I’ll never forget the stories I’ve heard from families in southern New Mexico who still carry the pain of the Trinity Test. For 80 years, our communities have paid the price of nuclear testing with sickness, loss, and silence.

As a representative of a district on the southern border with a majority Hispanic population, I am using my expertise to lead Congress toward the commonsense, pro-safety immigration solutions our country desperately needs.

There is absolutely no reason for the administration to withhold SNAP benefits from New Mexican families.

So glad to have been home in Las Cruces for this year’s SkyFiesta — honoring the 80th anniversary of WWII with legendary aircraft, veteran crews, and a spectacular twilight airshow. 🇺🇸Grateful to celebrate our history, our heroes, and the spirit of flight right here in southern New Mexico.

No matter who you voted for, I’m here to listen. Thank you to everyone who joined me for coffee on Saturday to talk about the shutdown, ICE enforcement, health care, education, and more. Your voices guide everything I do in Washington.

DOI’s decision to open the Coastal Plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for oil and gas drilling is, at best, misguided and, at worst, catastrophic.

Thank you to the 12,000+ New Mexicans who tuned into my tele-town hall on Tuesday. I work for you, and I’ll always make sure your voice is heard in Washington, regardless of who you voted for.

It's day 22 of the government shutdown and hard-working New Mexicans are paying the price. Let’s end the shutdown and put people over politics.

What we’re seeing from ICE — violent arrests, racial profiling, and U.S. citizens’ rights violated — is unacceptable. We can keep our communities safe without cruelty. Our immigration system should be rooted in dignity, fairness, and humanity.

Merecemos un Nuevo Mexico a nuestro alcance.

When local law enforcement speaks, we listen.
Chief Medina is right — recruiting officers away from their communities is desperate and disrespectful.
Let local police do their jobs and keep our neighborhoods safe. Taking officers off our streets makes New Mexico less secure.

On Indigenous Peoples’ Day and every day, I’m proud to honor the history, culture, and strength of the Tribal Nations that have shaped New Mexico. I’m grateful for their partnership in building a stronger, more just future for all of us.

We are calling on Speaker Johnson to bring the House back and ensure we pay our troops on time — and I’m leading the charge.

In New Mexico, Latinas are the backbone of our communities — running small businesses, teaching our kids, and driving our economy. Yet they’re still paid far less than their counterparts. It’s time to close the pay gap and ensure every Latina is paid what she deserves. #LatinaEqualPay #Trabajadoras

We deserve a New Mexico we can afford.

Thousands of national park staff remain furloughed without pay, our parks are losing $1M a day in revenue, and nearby communities are losing $80M in visitor spending. Families are locked out, workers are left behind, and park resources are unprotected.

During a government shutdown, 22,000 federal workers in New Mexico could miss paychecks. I’m ready to work across the aisle and find real solutions that re-open the government and protect Americans’ health care.

Congratulations to Russell Hernandez, owner of Salud de Mesilla, for being named New Mexico Restaurateur of the Year.

I'm heading back to Washington to do my job: fight for a funding deal that works for New Mexicans and protects their health care. While Republicans stay home and play politics, I’m ready to do whatever it takes to make sure our families don't pay the price.
