I'd be worried about ICE being at the voting booths in November.
The U.S. isn't a dictatorship yet. Voter turnout better be through the roof in November.

But protesting is good, too.

Maduro forgot that if you're an ally of Russia, 1 of 2 things will happen:
1. Russia will attack you
2. Russia will do nothing when someone else does

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

Any media outlet whose diagnosis of what's wrong with corporate media is *this* is about to deliver dogshit coverage the likes of which we've never seen

Corporate media lost its way due to cowardice, profit motive, anti-intellectualism, and confusing neutrality with objectivity

The most infuriating thing about German, Spanish, and British appeasers, is that if there will be a wider war, it will mostly not be their blood, but Polish, Lithuania, Latvian, Estonian, Finnish, and Swedish blood, that spilt. Great Northern war 2.0 where the Baltic is the main theatre of conflict.

Putin sits in Moscow claiming that his armies have taken a town that the Ukrainian president is personally visiting. There are cowardly tyrants and there are courageous elected leaders and it is good to know the difference.
Putin said Russia had taken Kupiansk weeks ago.

Today, Zelenskyy visited Ukrainian troops there.

Most discussions about “misinformation” treat the problem as if people simply don’t have good enough critical-thinking skills. It sounds intuitive, but it’s not entirely accurate. The problem isn’t just individual ignorance, it’s the structure of the information environment people are placed into.

In the UK and US, platforms reward speed, emotion and identity signalling. Even well-educated people get pulled into distorted information spaces, so the core problem isn’t ignorance, it’s the incentive environment that shapes how information spreads and sticks.

As progressives, we now oppose a military build up & threats of war and we no longer describe reporting presence of the military as "the media pushing for war".

The intellectual and moral inconsistencies of my appeasers never fails to amuse.

By getting Trump to endorse and push Russia's "peace plan," Steve Witkoff successfully took the sanctions pressure off Russia. Last week we were talking about Congress voting to sanction Russia and now we are not.

Do not finance the loan with the frozen Euroclear assets! It's not legal. Our EU government should set the example by abiding by its own and the international laws, otherwise it cannot expect from its citizens to do the same. Belgium is right and correct to resist these plans.

All protests for better government against our cronies are western plots. People in these countries are incapable of demanding this for themselves without CIA help. This isn't demeaning and it's not ironic that "anti racists" are most likely to believe this.

I don't think we should be under any illusion that any of this will change when Trump is gone. Go browse leftist American political commentators, they are majority pro-Russian. It's best for us to accept the American hostility toward Europe as the new status quo.

Much of the discussion of the “peace plan” evades two blunt truths: (a) Europe has no strategy, and (b) Trump is chaotic and aligned with Putin. This isn’t ignorance but a refusal to reckon with reality - a depoliticised move that, at scale, helps Trump and Putin.
