Earth as Art! #eARTh
A cool sea surface temperature pattern in the Alboran Sea, seen yesterday by #Sentinel3. We have the typical Alboran gyre, being squeezed by warmer water coming from the northwestern Mediterranean. Cold upwelled waters along the Spanish coast are getting trapped between the two warm water masses 🤩🌊

Some good hail in that storm near Tulsa! A pretty impressive hail spike combined with azimuthal side lobe seems to indicate there's either big hail, a lot of hail, or both! Seems that right now ~1" hail has been dropping.

An impressive upwelling event has occurred across the NW Mediterranean Sea over the past few days. Sea surface temperatures along the south coast of France have dropped by up to 10°C in less than 24 hours in some spots. This is only temporary however.

To stay safe from thunderstorms:

1. Plan to be inside before thunderstorms develop
2. Keep moving towards a lightning-safe place if thunderstorms develop when you're outside
3. Don't use the lightning crouch!

Don't listen to this common thunderstorm safety advice
