we have gone from a world in which we were told not to cite wikipedia because it was unreliable to a world where wikipedia might be the only reliable source left on the internet and we all owe a lot to the pedantic nerds who got us there

I'm sorry, what kind of pompous bullshit is this? I'm a recovering philosophy major, so I'm fluent in BS. This can be summed up as "Why are the youth into weird shit?" It's "get off my lawn" rhetoric surrounded by self-serious "analysis" to make it sound like it's making a novel point. It's not
Lababus, Dubai chocolate, and other popular trends could be considered IRL Brain Rot—a culture that exists physically but is incomprehensible without the internet.
IRL Brain Rot and the Lure of the Labubu
In the chimerical trend that is Labubumatchadubaichocolate, nothing is ever too extra. But those who embrace the aesthetic know that the only way out is further in.

Entire staff at federal agency that funds libraries and museums put on leave
The staff of the Institute of Museum and Library Services was placed on administrative leave Monday morning, following a meeting between IMLS leadership and DOGE staff.

If I have to be in the news, I'd prefer it be for better reasons. Contact your federal legislators. Tell them IMLS is important. And way more "efficient" than whatever the hell DOGE is doing
