AMPAR antagonist NBQX reduces GB cell proliferation in co-culture with glutamatergic neurons, as expected. But the GABAAR antagonist picrotoxin doesn’t affect GB growth in the setting with GABAergic interneurons. This suggests #GABA signalling drives #GB growth through non-synaptic mechanisms.

#GABAergic neuron-to-glioma synapses were recently found in #DMG/#DIPG, but not #GB @michellemonje.bsky.social @tarabarron.bsky.social

Yet our ML-based analysis flagged #GABA signalling as key in #GB. Notably, we showed that #GABAergic neurons promote #GB cell proliferation in co-culture assays.

Now we applied #MOBILE, a #ML based method, to integrate #multiomics data from #GB and uncovered new #GRNs and #TFs relevant for #glioblastoma pathogenesis.
