Look, I know we're all sick of hearing "if this had happened with any other president ..." but it's absolutely true and absolutely can't be forgotten.

For some reason, this nation gives this idiotic spoiled brat a free pass from things that would destroy the administration of any other person.

If you missed LAST WEEK TONIGHT with John Oliver last night, the Main Story was on cutbacks to funding. It was an interesting report, focusing on what public media does most people aren't aware of, & had a lot of humor, with a terrific twist at the end.

When Jason Reding Quiñones was hired in 2018 as a federal prosecutor in Florida, he flunked out of the office’s boot camp for new hires and left the office in 2024.

A year later, President Trump tapped him to lead the U.S. attorney’s office.

This has gotten little attention, but the other day came the report that, in hoping to build up support for sending troops into Nigeria, the Trump administration is planning to use as one of its spokespersons -- Nicki Minaj. Really. Here's the story --

Welcome to Taco Friday. Trump exempts a few of his imported food tariffs -- like coffee, beef and bananas -- to help bring down the price of a few products. Though most are still in effect.

More to the point, this shows Trump's lie when he's said that tariffs have nothing to do with rising prices.

TCM is airing the very offbeat film BRAZIL directed by Terry Gilliam, so I thought I'd embed this great "Making of..." half-hour documentary by my friend Rob Hedden.

I'm biased when I say it's great, but it won 2 awards & was exhibited at the Smithsonian.

If Trump believed what he wrote here, he would have had the Epstein files released the day he got in office. So, of course, what he writes here is ludicrous.

Besides, knowing Jeffrey Epstein or visiting his home is not a crime. The issue is sexual abuse of minors & other crimes & covering them up.
“Epstein was a Democrat, and he is the Democrat's problem, not the Republican's problem!”

Interesting polling analysis in The Economist. The group with highest disapproval of Trump BY FAR (at 75%) is Blacks. But stunningly, the group with the 2nd worst disapproval is -- people under 30! (Hispanics are almost as low.) That is deeply troubling for MAGOPs.

P.S. Trump officials get so upset when Trump is called a Nazi. And honestly, I don't think he is. He's a sociopath & fascist. But I do know that if you don't want people to *think* you're a Nazi, don't keep praising Nazis, endorsing Nazis & appointment Nazis. That's a pretty basic concept.
So, you recall Paul Ingrassia, who admitted he had "a Nazi streak in me" & Trump still nominated him to head the WH Special Counsel Office until outage grew SO much & he withdrew? Well -- Trump just appointed him deputy general counsel at the GSA!!

Gregory Bovino saying the quiet party out loud -- this is not about safety or "the worst of the worst", it's about retribution.
Bovino: "Whether they were criminals or individuals that were taking jobs from Americans -- you name it, that's what they were doing. And I'll tell you what's gonna happen. We're gonna go even harder on the streets. If he releases those 650, we're gonna apprehend 1,650 on the streets of Chicago."

For 7 weeks Johnson stonewalled, delayed, and twisted himself in knots to justify not swearing in Adelita Grijalva. He disenfranchised over 800,000 Arizonans, depriving them of their voice in Congress, and blocked the vote to release the Epstein files. His behavior was shameful.
"Congratulations, you're now a member of the United States Congress."
