it's great when you realize the company you rely on for your living money is just as shoestring as you are
Yes, itch is basically 1 person: Leaf.

I believe that the max itch ever was, was 2 with Amos. AFAIK none of them have a yacht.

Love it or hate it, but when Visa/Master Card knocks at your doors with pressure to close your 10 years old business, you mostly likely panic and do what you can.
saw someone refer to "itch's social-media team" and i guess people are still not grasping the size of organization here

i am 90% sure the itch twitter/bluesky are run by the CEO, who is also the guy who wrote the website and continues to write the website

Because some people still do not get it, I have produced this professional and detailed diagram explaining the options available to Itch.io upon being threatened by payment processors:

Option A: Comply, sacrificing some NSFW content.

Option B: Do not comply, sacrificing EVERYONE ELSE + Option A.

You do, actually, really, truthfully have to treat "websites with single-digit staff counts doing their best" with more respect and sympathy than multi-billion megacorps, if only because if they decide the grief isn't worth it then the extremely inclusive platform they built Goes Away
The OTHER camp has been blasting out weird alternate-universe fanfic wherein Itch is an evil cackling corpo with 100s of employees and 100s of millions to splash on lawyers. See: "platforms are not your friend" as thought-terminating cliche. These people are worse than useless!
