So what the hell happened to United Health Group earlier this month? Should we be buying the dip? Jeff Charles Goldsmith is on THCB with his analysis and he thinks that the 40 year party is coming to a sticky end.

This week in the hospital I cared for multiple patients with no health insurance, multiple pts with insurance who STILL can’t afford their meds, and one kidney transplant pt who recently lost his insurance so now can’t afford anti-rejection meds

This is what I mean when I say medicine is political

I'm thinking today about families who are caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's, re-evaluating how they can better support primary caregivers. Too often people sink under the burden of care work, unaware they are drowning, invisible to the rest of the family.

People are not getting the messages they need the most. As our government information systems (CDC, NOAA) get dismantled, this is getting worse.

Truth doesn't have a marketing budget, so spreading those messages is up to us.

ONE solution to this, is street art.

Yesterday's #RallyforRare was a community-led event featuring talks on genetic testing, clinical trial design, data registries, and peer-to-peer health care. It was a room of scientists & advocates who care about rare & undiagnosed patients & families. Defiant. Fierce. Incredible.

I am reminded today that healthcare isn't actually healthcare if you don't have access to care. My husband has a torn rotator cuff. He also has an ICD. He can't get an MRI in the @Hopkins system until February of 2026! We're trying to find alternatives but have been astonished the paucity of options

My town recently bought a church in need of repair plus the grounds and plan to build a community center. They have sent out invitations for everyone to come and share what they would like in the community center. I’m hoping for public restrooms and public showers for the Car homeless.
