I caught Evan Friss on the @roadtonow.bsky.social podcast talking about his book. I immediately borrowed it from the library and now I want to open a book shop! This from someone that uses the local library and rarely buys a book. There’s just something romantic about the little book shop #booksky

Great Scott! This was a fun listen and the perfect primer before seeing the movie in theaters this weekend. Any BTTF fan knows how MJF split time with Family Ties while filming the movie and he provides even more detail of how chaotic life was and a behind the scenes look at making the iconic film

I wasn't around when Tiny Dancer was released but I was certainly familiar with it prior to Almost Famous. Regardless, that scene on the bus is one my all-time favorite movie moments.
Elton John's Greatest Song Was a Flop — Until This Cult-Classic Film Revived Its Popularity 3 Decades Later
Elton John’s greatest song flopped in 1971, but one unforgettable Almost Famous scene turned it into a defining moment in rock history.

Always excited for new music from Foo's, but this is just kind of meh. Same with the previous single, Today's Song. At least there's the live album they released on @bandcamp.com that sounds fantastic, Foo Fighters – Are Playing Where ??? Vol. 1

I've been intrigued by the Boox Palma line and adding color makes it even more enticing. However I still don't think it needs a camera and I don't need a data sim or stylus support for my purposes. Its maybe a nice companion for dumb phone users but still too expensive as a kindle replacement

It will always baffle me how easily people will believe that the poor, the sick, the marginalized, and the immigrant are the cause for all their problems, rather than the people in the most powerful positions in their country who refuse to fix problems and exploit them instead.

AOC: All in the name of Charlie Kirk, Trump and the FCC are now cynically threatening to shut down ABC and any outlets who give air time to the administration's political critics.

This is a disgusting attack on the American people and the very first amendment rights that define us as a country.

Insanely bogus penalty calls! Not that the points even matter for STL but officiating needs to be called out for this.

James by Percival Everett.
I maybe should have familiarized myself with The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn before jumping into a reimagining of it. There is a humor to it but it is also brutally honest depicting slavery. Fast paced, thought provoking and worth the read.

The God of the Woods is engrossing but often loses momentum with changing perspectives and character development. It’s an elaborate mystery with great writing that I enjoyed overall but sometimes just felt too long.

I picked up Sea of Tranquility because of how much I loved Station Eleven. I wasn’t so sure what I was getting into at first but was quickly captivated (once again) by Emily St. John Mandel’s writing. Adding The Glass Hotel to my to-read list!

The One by John Marrs was wildly unpredictable and I think that's what made it so good. The writing wasn’t anything special and the stories could be a bit over the top, but I could not put this down!

Judge Young, a Reagan appointee with 40 years of experience as a federal judge said he had “never seen government racial discrimination like this,” and that he felt duty bound to state his conclusion about the government’s intent.
“I would be blind not to call it out,” he said.
