The horror book group and the LGBTQ book group at our county library read SYCBANI and it caused lots of great discussion of romance, families and what really is a monster. And a few people who squicked out because of body horror stuff, but it was a great book club read! ❤️

Maybe it’s just me, but I was not aware that there was currently any burning desire on the part of the public to finally know the hidden secrets of the FBI’s Amelia Earhart files. Almost like there are files on someone else that people actually DO want to know about?🙄

I cannot wait to read this!

It’s so beautiful. How wonderful that this still exists in our world.

What Trmp and his people are doing, but they don’t want to be criticized for their support of inhumane policies. And I’m done accepting excuses for it. I’m just not interested in playing along with that from anybody, not even old friends and family.” I absolutely feel the same as my son. It’s hard

Getting. So no matter how nice they are, or educated or polite, or even if they SAY they don’t agree with everything he’s doing, they enabled and tacitly support it. So if they say they regret it or don’t agree with everything, they are either so naive they’re idiots- or they are just fine with

Any benefit from the tax cuts, for example, continue this magical thinking that somehow Trmp has their best interests at heart. But my son said something that really struck me. He said: “This second time around with Trmp, people don’t really have any excuses that they didn’t know what they were

One of the weirdest things is the way this support covers even the most evil - and I don’t use that word lightly- corrupt and inept followers of Trmp. I wish I could say that it’s all people who are ignorant or uneducated, but it’s not. Plenty of people with college educations who will never see

not shock, exactly, but an emotional wrench during these MAGA times, to come to terms with being surrounded most of the time by people who don’t just support this political regime, but who will engage in any insane mental gymnastics required in order to make excuses for this man and his cronies.

My son,who is 25 and starting graduate school this fall, and I were just talking about this. I grew up in rural Ohio but moved to Chicago at 17 for college and lived there 35+ years. My son was born and raised there. Now he and my husband and I are back in Ohio caring for my mom. It’s been a real

“Lonnie G. Bunch, the secretary, has the support of the Board of Regents in his authority and management of the Smithsonian.” The message was clear: Trump does not control the nation’s museums.

City for decades, when I’ve tried to explain what that’s like or how huge public gatherings, even for protest, are pretty peaceful and corralled to certain areas and the worst thing you worry about is that the El train isn’t delayed- people here just don’t WANT to hear or believe that reality.

Ohio. Or if they have, it’s been only to Florida or Myrtle Beach to vacation with a bunch of other people exactly like them. I wish that were an exaggeration but it honestly isn’t. Media outlets buying into this one-sided coverage for shock value is a real issue because even though I lived in a big

Most of the people in this rural county have literally no concept of how big a city like Chicago or LA actually is. They see the highly localized footage on the news and assume it’s all dangerous and violent and that it’s shut everything down. A lot of people around here have never travelled out of

Just listened to your pod about the protests. I grew up in rural Ohio and am back here caring for an elderly parent after 35+ years in Chicago. What you said about most Americans not understanding that even a big protest is only blocking a few streets and that it is NOT city-wide chaos is very true
