What a lovely bird! Here is a young heron from our pond walking up the driveway looking for chipmunks to stab and swallow with his lovely murder beak.

Our magnolia is almost ready to bloom. We live out in the woods in a hollow and have an acre pond and it’s always almost ten degrees colder here than in town. But the daffodils are finally showing!

Simba- the third cat we didn’t know we needed until my husband came up to me and said “There is a cat over there with the saddest blue eyes”- totally identifies with this. His owners declawed him and ditched him because they “couldn’t pay enough attention to him” he’s happy now🩷

Our dog yesterday living his best Autumn life! Most of the leaves here are brown from oak trees but we’ve got some gorgeous reds and yellows too.

It’s so good to be a beloved pup.

It was JUST starting to bloom! Each stalk was about four feet tall and there were at least a hundred buds. Lol, it was SO pretty last year and filled with bees until late September. Alas, not this year. I’m trying to figure out how to keep them out of it, but it’s just sort of in the open. ☹️

Yep. My hubs’ family had St Bernards and Swissies when he was a teenager and we adopted our Berner from the humane society when his litter got surrendered. I’ve loved all of our dogs but Baba is just the biggest and the sweetest.

Sometimes that stuff happens. As Lois McMaster Bujold wrote “get over rough ground as lightly as you can”. Here’s my giant dog realizing his blankie GOT WASHED and stealing it out of the clean laundry basket 😂❤️

That sucks. Here is an amazing double rainbow we saw as we drove home from the dog park the other evening. I hope it helps a little🩷
