So why am I seeing so many graphically sexual posts on this platform lately? Isn't there a better place to do that kind of thing? I'm no prude, but I really don't give a rat's ass who's horny. I'm spending a lot of time blocking people and it's kind of pissing me off.

I don't know what we can do to stop this. I'm old & not as well or as active as I wish I could be. This is a stream of consciousness that has been provoked by my inability to maintain any level of hope.I hope I live long enough to be proven wrong,but I think we're on the cusp of something dreadful.

I'm starting to believe that this has been in the works for years. I don't think anyone actually believes that trump has either the interest or the intellect to run our country. Musk has bought the GOP, he has been gifted our country by a megalomaniac whose sole purpose in life is to be made king.

Neither trump nor musk know how a democracy works. They don't care, so musk gets our country on a silver platter while the GOP (and unfortunately, too many Dems) fiddle while the country burns. Trump will gladly hand Ukraine to his bestie in Russia as he did our country to musk.

We all know that the only reason trump wanted the presidency in order to avoid prosecution & probable conviction for multiple political crimes. What we didn't see coming (since trump has no real appetite to govern) was his intention to bring his top donor on board to facilitate Project 2025.

Then we get to see trump host a state dinner for the dictator where the head of the leader of Ukraine will be served, as the first course, on a silver platter. I'm ashamed of this country, furious with the people who enabled this to happen, and terrified for my grandchildren.

I see a bad moon rising much to the delight of our "esteemed" GOP who would do anything to stay in good favor of a despicable protector of a brutal dictator who is determined to destroy Ukraine & sweep through Europe like a wildfire with trump's (& the GOP's) blessings.

I'm sorry I turned on the news after work & had to witness the shameful & mostly false attacks on the President of another democracy by a bloated Putin-loving wannabe dictator who fancies himself to be an expert negotiator but who, in reality, is just another weak man-child bully & his lapdog, JD.

Enjoying an evening of beautiful music at Staller Center, Stony Brook University, listening to the incredible Joshua Bell and soprano Larisa Martinez (Maestro Bell’s lovely partner and wife) and, for a brief respite, not thinking about the ugliness and carnage being perpetrated on our democracy.

I spend a lot of time wondering how a felonious snake oil salesman/sexual predator got elected president. 21% of adults in the US are illiterate. 54% of adults read at or below 6th grade level, 20% read at or below 5th grade level. This seems like a good place to start, no? We need to do better.
