Having the realization this morning that maybe I don’t actually hate having my birthday noticed I just hated the name my parents gave me.
Coming to work to find a birthday card to my chosen name on my desk was surprisingly mildly pleasant, instead of the usual mildly annoying.

Here’s the part that makes the difference in why random people just hopping on ChatGPT do not experience the effect that the study authors found: they did not test real-world conditions. They added a backstage prompt to talk the participants out of their specific conspiratorial beliefs.
