I will always have more ideas than I have time. Always. I will die with things unrealized, that's the nature of creativity. Its fine.

Now I have this backlog of the grand ideas and projects that keep me up at night, that will slowly become a graveyard of unrealization if I'm not careful, cautious, and a little bit selfish. I don't have unlimited time anymore, my hands are failing me, anything past the horizon is a guess at best.

Also this:

Jurassic Park holds up so well. Why did I shriek when the velociraptor showed up behind Laura Dern like I haven’t seen this movie 40 times.

Someone once told me that the shortest distance between two people is a story.

The writer in me really, *really* liked that and it’s something that I often remind myself of.

And now I guess I’m reminding you! 😉

Six decades later, Star Trek may still be the only franchise based on the ideas that diversity is strength, justice is the measure of civilization, bounty is to be shared, peace is worth the price, and all these things can be achieved.

We need more shows that look ahead and find goodness.

Here's the thing. You don't have unlimited time. At a certain point in my aging (and admittedly my near-death) I realized I wasn't going to get to all my ideas and whims and I needed to be strategic and careful with the choices of where I gave my time.

I, and you, will only be able to do so much.

what if your ideas are as in love with you as you are with them?

what if your creativity spends its days dreaming about you too?

what if art is a co-creation between you (the vessel) & the eternal source of all things?

what if this act of making is the universe experiencing itself through you?
