I haven't been active in academia in six years but today I was delighted to come across a very specific niche research paper, wonder if they cited my work in it, and upon checking discover that they *did*.

This is a new Murderbot short story, coming out later this week on Reactor Magazine. It’s about ART and its crew, set before Network Effect, and how ART finally decided to tell them about meeting a rogue SecUnit.

Hoo boy, moving is a lot of work. But today we got the last bits and bobs out of the old place, cleaned it, and turned in our keys. Very large step completed!

I only have one book in the dataset, and a couple dozen co-authors on that book, but I wouldn't say no to $20k for an academic text that my previous payment for was a free copy of the book
I mean, look at this: 200 results. Which means all my novels, and my novellas, and my non-fiction work, and then many of them again across several translations. At $500k a pop, that's $100 million right there. I could probably squeak by on $100M.

A combination shot would make it easier for people to get vaccinated against Covid and the flu at the same time.

As he began speaking on the Senate floor Monday night, Cory Booker said that he intended to disrupt “the normal business of the Senate for as long as I am physically able,” citing his belief that “our nation is in crisis.”

He wasn’t kidding.

Just received this photo from a friend of a warehouse in Kinshasa. These are tuberculosis medications--ALREADY PAID FOR--that aren't being distributed due to the Trump Administration's stop work order.
TB treatment is being interrupted in SO many patients around the world. What does that mean? (1/2)

If you're mad and find yourself yelling that you want someone launched into the Sun, take a moment, calm yourself, and remember that it takes a lot less Delta v to launch them out of the Solar System instead.

You can be mad, but that's no excuse to be inefficient with propellant.

I saw this cover at the library when I was a kid and checked the book out based almost entirely on the strength of the cover art. It... probably wasn't the best place to start the series actually. No regrets.

I was in a frenzied state trying to finish up jobs before the impending birth of our son when I had a dream about this cover. 1/3

Sometimes I get really sad and hopeless and I think about the gardasil vaccine and it makes me happier for a minute because it is one of the best things humanity has done in awhile.

A literal cancer vaccine.

'Overpopulation' Is A Racist Trope. It's Time We Laid It To Rest
A new movie satirises the myth that climate change is a consequence of too many people. In the real world, our overpopulation obsession must be euthanised.
