Zhu and colleagues reported that METTL3 inhibition in naive hESCs upregulated 8C-associated transcripts, including LTRs, and promoted chromatin opening. Reducing m6A on primate-specific L1PA mimicked this transcriptome transition, influencing LTR binding and protein preferences for L1-mediated chromatin recruitment, particularly suppressing EP300 binding to ERV1 and enhancing KAP1 binding to ERVL-MaLR.

Nagy et al. identify a NOX-ATM-cytokine signaling axis in the Drosophila gut that is activated by infection independently of DNA damage. This pathway promotes enterocyte loss, cytokine production, and stem-cell-driven repair, defining a conserved epithelial stress response essential for tissue homeostasis and survival during enteric infection.

My postdoc work at Treutlein lab and @graycamplab.bsky.social with @jasperjanssens.bsky.social is out in @science.org ! We screen for neuron subtypes using pro-neural TFs + morphogen combinations + scRNA-seq and profiled over 700,000 cells in 480 conditions. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
