Hey 💙⛷️, I’m going to try something here cause it seems like a green field for new voices and ideas. What if we had a real life civil servant to give perspective on this intense, dangerous, likely absurd, and years’ long attack on gov’t employees and all they do for America? 1/3
While all the reactionaries were thinking inflation would last forever, I bet on the soft landing because of @pkrugman.bsky.social’s clear arguments and data. Please say you’re starting a fund 😁
And it’s official. I’m immensely grateful to the world’s greatest news organization for giving me a platform all these years, and greatly appreciate the moving sendoff 1/

The public reaction to the #UHC shooting is a pretty clear reason why the #GOP spends all it’s time and energy demonizing people and groups that aren’t economic vampires 🧛‍♂️

This is all true, but it’s also a rehash of a rehash. What if our primary “resistance” content creators instead had a *positive* message of increasing citizen power in relation to their employers, tech, and the big systems like healthcare that eat up our time and money?

No one is above the law in our country, unless you happen to be a twice impeached, adjudicated rapist, business fraud, felon who tried to overturn the results of a legitimate presidential election via violent coup.

In that case, yes — you are in fact, above the law.

If the dems come away with this thinking “we just need more #MSNBC” we are completely, irrevocably f****d

They think the beginning and end of our problems exists within the endless trials and investigations of Trumpworld, and have nothing to say about the increasing powerlessness of average people.

When someone talks about cutting a huge number of federal workers, you can show them this! Then ask them to adjust it for population…

Folks, Bluesky is turning into a powerhouse. I looked away and have nearly 100,000 followers. It has replaced Twitter for me as a "what's going on?" platform. It's not even December.

This is what I’ve been talking about, trying to be thoughtful about when to be outraged. It’s going to be a very long and very dark four years. Sometimes letting republicans fight with each other is going to be the only way.

Org chart of the day: FDA
*The FDA is not one thing, but composed of different “centers” each with a different mission (food safety, tobacco, medical devices, etc)
*Chart is dated, and leadership is named. This is common and charts change quickly.
