Actual photo of me typing up my process note for case consultation and carefully removing all the “uhhs” and “likes” from my trenchant interpretations.

My friend who is expecting sent me this page from a how-to-be-a-dad book someone gave him because of the cameo by my second favorite band. That aside, between the totally incoherent time period this is supposed to portray & the phase “tribute to your former life” there’s a lot going on here.

Invited to attend a disco-themed holiday party. Took the opportunity to purchase a t-shirt I had wanted as a teenager.

Oy, there’s just no getting through to these people. Here’s another one: the Eagles, see how easy this is? I could do this all day!

I made a Sluggo pumpkin.

I see what you’re saying, but, respectfully, I would rather not smell the dictator.

Chester Brown: One of my favorite cartoonists, one of my least favorite psychologists.

Couldn’t remember the name of the keyboard player from Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. Settled on Benedict Cumberpunch. Felt satisfied.

A common myth about Einstein was that, despite his academic & scientific intelligence, he didn’t know how to tie his shoes. I used to think that couldn’t possibly be true, then I moved to Berkeley & began to interact with STEM undergrads in the world.

It’s “lit” right?

Found these Freudian slippers left on the sidewalk directly outside my office. Coincidence or a “maneuver most skillful and designed?” Quite a pair-of-praxis anyway.

Absolutely agree, and best value for money can often mean free, as trade paperbacks of classic lit can easily be found in Little Free Libraries. This stack alone is from the ones in my neighborhood (don’t worry, they get books from me too)

Was sure I forgot to pay my therapist two weeks ago. Impulsively venmo’d him. Saw in my email confirmation frim venmo I’d already paid the day of that session. Not in my venmo history, not taken from my bank account. He told me he just got paid once when I asked in session. Strange things are afoot.

Some pitches: Maverick dentist who plays by her own rules. Gritty realist CPA drama. The twisted backstory of a hated insurance adjuster. The banal personal life of a women’s shoe retailer.

Just finished watching “The Pitt.” Great show, totally recommend, not usually into medical dramas. One thing it failed to do well, in my opinion, was its portrayal of the ER social worker, Kiara, who just barely eked past my personal Bechdel test of how mental health workers are depicted in media.

This is obvious hipster posturing on my part when I clearly mean “…Baby One More Time” or “Enema of the State.”

Back in the Olden Days there was a rad West Oakland queer/drag punk band I used to play a bunch of shows with called Connie Fucking Francis. That was my introduction. Requiescat.
