Honestly, you can see how a lot of online "backlash" is just devolved into this nonsensical "high school" style BS, where a bunch of losers thing dunking on everything makes them the cool kids and stuff like "Effort" and "passion" are "cringe."

Really, the Muppets are more violent than the EQUALIZER.
Never saw someone on the EQUALIZER *eat* someone else, or just have characters randomly explode.

Is there any Ninja Gaiden game where the story *isn't* complete nonsense?

No, they didn't want that.
They just wanted to feel smug and self important and have an easy scapegoat for them to complain about in order to feel special.
Now they've moved onto "everything looks like AI, including stuff that's not AI."

These people's brains are frying because they literally cannot grasp the notion of the director having a vision and a message and using a classic work to tell it.
Either a film does *EXACTLY* what they want or it's garbage.
i.e. A "Marvel film."

For the second, in Japan Columbo was also huge. So when the Prime Minster of Japan was visiting California, he requested to meet Peter Falk.
Falk was filming Columbo at the time and turned down the invitation because he didn't think the PM would actually want to meet him.

There was a lot of civil unrest at the time and this was seen as yet another example of the government withholding material from the citizens.
Peter Falk had to be recruited to record a personal message to say "Folks, there is no more Columbo. That's it."

For the first one, in Romania Columbo was *huge*- like it was in most of the world.
However, because of it's format, there is only so many Columbo episodes.
Unfortunately, the populace assumed the government was deliberately keeping Columbo episodes from them.

It's because they're miserable nobodies who've never done anything important and that's everyone else's problem now.

I mean- it's trash TV.
It's basically like a modern day Aaron Spelling type production. It's an over the top series that runs more on melodrama than logic.
If it intrigues you, I say check it out. Just maybe pop open a bottle of wine first to get a good buzz going before you do.
