Charlie Kirk spent years calling gun deaths the “price of freedom.” He mocked empathy & grieving parents, called Black women intellectually inferior, targeted academics, and taught young conservatives that blood was a fair trade for liberty. Then a bullet found him. open.substack.com/pub/drstacey...

Don’t just call the protests violent. Who sparked the violence? What is the appropriate law enforcement response in a nation allegedly built on a fundamental right to protest? Contrast imagery and dialogue around Jan. 6 and what we’re seeing now. Their job is narrative. Ours is truth.

What separates journalism from stenography is independent reporting, verification and context. Trump calls in the National Guard for LA — note he did not do so for the insurrection. He says no one will spit on law enforcement, note he pardoned those who physically assaulted law enforcement Jan 6.

America was given a choice between a lawless, amoral monster and a qualified, intelligent, joyful woman of color—and it chose the monster. We need to reckon with the reality of what that says about so many of us here.

6/ It’s important to know what this means. This is simple his DOGE team reviewing the US federal budget, law of the land and deciding which parts aren’t necessary. It sounds like they’re saying they will unilaterally cut these funds with control over the check writing at Treasury.
