My best friends’ kids in uk call me auntie. It’s cute. It’s a term of endearment for the people they love and feel safe around just like their own blood relatives.
i cannot believe that “mamdani calls a close adult relative an ‘aunt’ even if they are not literally their parent’s sister” is what counts as a “scandal” these days
