Sick out of my mind was, perhaps, the best way to experience universal paperclips

Honestly I’m 87 pages in and this seems like the least about-censorship book I’ve ever read—despite it *literally being written on the cover of my second-hand copy*

Tonight on a whim I wrote an engine in #godot for easily making text-based adventure games. The old-fashioned kind, with a text parser. I timed myself doing this. 2 hours, 44 minutes, 24.50 seconds.

I'll take my Summoningsalt video now please~

Well, the battle system's pretty much done, so now begins the process of EVERYTHING ELSE.

Anyway, the cool thing about that background I've been using is that it's actually a shader, which means I can do stuff like THIS:

I've spent the last ~hour playing a translated version of the original Dragon Quest for the Famicom and now hundreds of pop culture references across all the Japanese media I've consumed over the years suddenly make sense.

I am very fortunate to have exceedingly generous friends, which is why I was able to play #Silksong today

And lemmee tell you

Hornet has fucking *schmovement*, also, fuck this guy in particular:

Okay, the other half of the item equation: equipment! We've got Armor, Weapons, Accessories, and Spheres. You can switch equipment mid-battle if it's in your inventory, and it can currently affect your stats, apply status effects, and grant status immunities (with more to come)! #gamedev #godot

...Under the hood, they're just moves!

Which is why you can Mod them ;)
September 27, 2025 at 9:38 PM
Consumable items added! Only took ~2 hours to get a working system in place, for one simple, super secret reason...

Added win/lose conditions and a game over!

...Maybe a little too melodramatic of a game over.

Update: I have escaped from Shader Hell. #gamedev #Godot

(For anyone wondering it's the menus masking out the line. That's it. That's literally it. Hours spent on that. My god.)

And guess what? This whole time, enemies have been generated from dictionaries too! I can literally create entirely new foes just by editing a dictionary. It's extremely fast and extremely efficient!
September 23, 2025 at 2:32 AM
This is what these three AIs look like. As you can see, they're just dictionaries—collections of named variables.
September 23, 2025 at 2:32 AM
We've got enemy AI! The cool kind, not the horrible big tech kind. "Big deal," you're thinking to yourself. Well, I'll tell you what the big deal is:
