May anyone who chooses to work for ICE live out their days shunned by society, utterly unloved and alone. May they never know a night’s rest. May each and every one of their deaths be celebrated by the people who knew them.
This passage nearly broke me.

Bonus MMI piece. I'm testifying tomorrow to the Finance Committee regarding Bill C-4 and GST rebates. I'll be discussing the rapid increase in new housing taxes and how this taxation level is incompatible with housing as a human right.

Seems like we should just assume that any tough talk against the Trump regime by Pierre Poilievre or Danielle Smith will be 100% political performance, and that any decisions relating to Canada until the election by Trump will be motivated at least in part by an interest in helping Poilievre win.
So am I understanding this right? Alberta Premier Danielle Smith asked the Trump/MAGA regime (who are currently attacking Canada) to time their attacks in order to influence the Canadian Federal Election and benefit Pierre Poilievre and the Conservative Party?

In an economic and sovereignty crisis?

CBC makes a strong point, if Poilievre follows through with killing the industry carbon tax, Canada will not comply with EU rules, making TRADE harder with Europe. So, when he talks about the industrial carbon tax and JOBS, the idea of blocking new trade in this environment looks reckless. #cdnpoli

Canadians: Another reason to avoid U.S. grocery products.
The Trump administration just shut down a food safety committee to prevent bacteria in baby formula.

They are also threatening to fire employees who prevent deli meat from being infected with Listeria and applesauce from being laced with lead.

Two BIG reasons (of many) why I’ve never had even the tiniest interest in becoming an American. Especially against my will.
Growing up, my family lived below the poverty line, and no one on either side had ever gone to university.

Starting as a young adult, I’ve needed 13 surgeries and procedures over 3 decades to save my eye sight.

Because I was born in Canada, I was able to earn an excellent education, and I can see.

This is not a peace negotiation. This is the beginning of a US-russian alliance. All that's left is for the US to commit troops to help the weak russian army conquer Ukraine and remove Zelensky. Forget the betrayal; it was expected. This is pathetic US deference to the weak russian dictatorship.

You know which Canadian has done nothing useful to support Canada during Trump’s trade war crisis?

Pierre Poilievre.

Not surprising considering his record supporting Trump, MAGA & the extremist Trucker convoy, attacks on media, connection to Stephen Harper, and refusal to get a security clearance.

This is SHOCKING. Among everything else that’s despicable about this, ITS A CLEAR ADMISSION THAT THEY KNOW THAT DOING THIS WILL OBVIOUSLY ENDANGER LIVES.

People rode bikes on these streets before the bike-lanes (albeit fewer) and they will again after. The inevitable blood will be on Ford’s hands.

Trump & MAGA are going after media in the United States. That’s incredibly dangerous.

In Canada, Pierre Poilievre is going after CBC, threatening to defund it. That should be a big red flag for Canadians. CBC isn’t perfect, but it’s light-years better than most North American media (example below).
IMPORTANT: If you live in the United States or Canada, you’ve probably heard Trump‘s constant claim that the United States is “subsidizing” Canada. It’s wrong of course, but here’s the best explanation I’ve seen about how & why it’s wrong. PLEASE WATCH & SHARE IT A LOT. Kudos to Andrew Chang & CBC.
