Observing as a lapsed Catholic, a faith community necessarily intermingles the social and the philosophical. So if you find yourself alienated socially, you’ll likely also take umbrage philosophically. It’s straightforward, but goes a long way in explaining embittered smug atheists.
Just begging ex-Christian “Atheists” to recognize that there is a lot of nuance in belief. There are a lot of people who are Atheist or Agnostic AND part of a religious community. There are a lot of organized religions that are not Christianity. It’s not all God-believers versus non-God-believers.
