In fairness, for having seen it with a live orchestra in Oakland in 2011 or 2012, it's excellent and you should see it.

Ok hear me out. @aiannucci.bsky.social gets a hold of the Louvre's story. Mini-series. Starts just before the heist, following Louvre employees around. Guards entering PWs ("LOUVRE") all the way to Louvre's boss giving evidence (think corridor scene of her trying to spin this with her spox).

Late to the party but wanted to recommend podcast “Who Trolled Amber?” by @tortoisemedia.bsky.social. Staggering report about the coordinated bot campaign against Amber Heard and its implications, which go far beyond her case against Johnny Depp.

You in DC? Know anyone who is? We need photos of the current state of the WH East Wing, but Treasury employees, who have the best view, are banned from taking (let alone sharing) any.

Assume you can't see it from VUE Rooftop restaurant either. Any idea how to get a sight?

My main question is: has Ms Weiss ever met a journalist ?
so here’s the thing, Bari, you’re running an organization full of weapons-grade gossips who hate you www.nytimes.com/2025/10/19/b...

@chatterton.bsky.social et la politique de Bluesky? Limiter l’incitation à la violence.

Pendant que Musk la propage ouvertement et directement.

Donc bon.
I asked Bluesky how it's moderating graphic videos of the Charlie Kirk assassination, as well as responses that glorify violence or call for retribution.

From a Bluesky spokesperson: "We're suspending accounts that are encouraging violence; we are taking down close-up videos of the event."

@chatterton.bsky.social et pendant ce temps-là, avant même de connaître l’identité du suspect… un peu d’honnêteté intellectuelle, ça te ferait pas de mal.
I'll merely note that today, like all days, is a great day to stop posting on Twitter, a platform whose owner force feeds this slop into people's brains with an algorithm designed to boost his views and trample yours.

@chatterton.bsky.social « la gauche se réjouit » mais mon gars, ça s’appelle des films, ce que tu te fais. Des films.
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) on the shooting of Charlie Kirk:

"Political violence, unfortunately, has ramped up in this country ... I think there are people who are fomenting it in this country. I think the president's rhetoric often foments it."

We must stand resolutely against political assassination and political violence of all kinds, and just as resolutely against everyone who exploits acts of violence as the pretext or excuse for political repression of political opponents.
Very, very bad stuff coming from leading right-wingers

My main observation from the last few hours of monitoring US social media is that Democrats are universally denouncing political violence and calling for calm while MAGA are escalating language and openly lusting for retribution against broad categories of people they identity as their enemies.

Political violence is bad. It usually begets more political violence.

Celebrating political violence is bad. It usually encourages more political violence, against various targets.

Campus shootings are bad. They make everyone on campus less safe.

It's bad that what I wrote here is controversial.

Charlie Kirk called me a ‘lunatic’ and a ‘prostitute’ and demanded I be deported.

Nothing, *nothing*, justifies killing him, or robbing his kids of their dad.

We don’t know the identity or motive of the shooter but murder can *never* be the response to political disagreements.
September 10, 2025 at 10:00 PM
Charlie Kirk was a person. He might not have cared if I died, but if I don’t care that he died then I’ve already lost.

I believe in the dignity of all human beings and I want to live in a society that treats each of us as sacred and ensouled.

@chatterton.bsky.social tiens, ça t’évitera de dire n’importe quoi pour des likes sur X
Horrific terrorism. Strength and peace to the Kirk family.

People from all corners of US need to join hands, speak up, & act together against the use of violence to advance a political agenda.

Last week I worked on a false rumour that the MN shooter was Jewish. The word spread mostly through far-right non-Jewish accounts. But then it occurred to me: how do these people define Jewish?

There is so much disagreement amongst Jews about what makes a Jew, but...

Cojones = testicles

I’m all for more storage, but that’s not what you mean.

All the people doing their evening run along Flushing Ave in 130 AQI, looking at me funny because I’m wearing a filtering mask and trying to rush the dog back home where all the filters are running on high.
Just to repeat so it’s clear: there are folks on the east coast who do not understand the AQI and at least some local news stations who are not informing their audiences of proper safety measures.

Unless it’s “apocalypse orange” outside, some people think it’s fine to breathe this toxic air.
