We need to listen and understand before mis-appropriating MLK,Jr's legacy.
I often see comments quoting MLK Jr. from folks using his legacy to emphasize building bridges and working alongside state actors who actively oppress marginalized communities. But, as many experts have emphasized, there has been a “misappropriation and white-washing” of MLK’s legacy in the U.S.
