GM! Happy Women's Day! The first time I was ever celebrated on this day was when I was brought flowers by a Ukranian director during a rehearsal for a Chekhov show. He was Gobsmacked that it wasn't a bigger deal in the US. It showed me how devalued we are here. Since then I make it a big deal.

Mar 5th 1995 - 30 Years ago today, he Tune Squad with Michael Jordan faced off against The Monstars in the Ultimate Game.

The "Ultimate Game" actually took place on March 5th, 1995. We know this from a couple of different clues throughout the movie. First, early in the movie Michael Jordan #23 is seen playing with the Birmingham Barons against the Huntsville Stars when the Monstars first crash land on Earth in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot. Jordan wasn‘t assigned to the Barons until March 31, 1994. So we know it couldn‘t have happened before this. This is an important detail, because not long after this, when the Monstars decide to take the 5 NBA players‘ talent, the first two that they go after are Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing. This is clearly shown to have happened at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Why does this matter? Because during the time Jordan was away from basketball, the Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks only played at The Garden two times. Once on January 25th, 1994 and once on January 29th, 1995. Since we know the Monstars didn‘t arrive until after Jordan was with the Barons, we can safely assume that the date the Monstars took the talent from the NBA players was January 29th, 1995. Not much laterthan this, we see Jordan, Larry Bird, and Bill Murray playing golf together, with Stan tagging along. Stan mentions to Jordan that he has a baseball game tomorrow." This is important, and I'll come back to it in a minute. During their round of golf, Jordan gets sucked down the hole and into Looney Tunes Land. Jordan reluctantly agrees to help, on the condition that he gets his lucky shorts and his shoes. Meanwhile, Stan begins digging his way to Looney Tune Land. Laterthat same night, Stan finally makes it to Looney Tune Land by following Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck when they return with Jordan's Shorts and Shoes. Stan is worried about Jordan and insists he needs to get him back, because he has practice the next day. Wait a minute! Was it practice or a game? This seems odd at first. How could it go f…
