Lover of hopeless cars and cats. Trying to be kinder every day. Leftie. Canadian who loves his nation, and has for long before the Convoyers came along. Big on real history, alternate history, anime and manga. (he/him)

Doing this again because there's a lot of anime I love.

Listen, if you're an anime fan the current episode of #CityTheAnimation has my jaw on the floor. Kyoto Animation have outdone themselves again -- no small feat, considering this is *KyoAni* we're talking about. Everything about the scene below was hand-animated, including the bubbles.

An ad agency did exactly this in the 1960s for Volkswagen, and the "Think Small" and "Lemon" ad campaigns are considered benchmarks in the advertising industry. Few companies have had the courage to follow their lead, though.

Movie that takes place where you're from: Not in the immediate town I'm from, but a 45 minute drive south of me is the actual Uncle Tom's Cabin, in Dresden, Ontario. That part of SW Ontario -- Essex and Kent Counties -- was the northern terminus for most of the Underground Railroad routes.

For those who don't know, this is what he's talking about: the EuroNCAP Pedestrian Head Impact Test. The "bowling ball" is an instrumented human head surrogate, and measures how well the car's passive/active pedestrian safety measures work. American cars rarely have these features at all.

Specifically the EuroNCAP Pedestrian Head Impact Test, which fires a human head surrogate device at a car to determine if active/passive pedestrian protection measures work. American cars rarely have pedestrian protection measures at all.
