I re-read the 2017 Trump I National Security Strategy and the differences to the 2025 strategy are really striking. This reads like a document from different times

I want to reiterate that the Trump administration does not actually have the legal power to punish networks for content critical of the president or the political Right.
That’s going to be true for a lot of the assaults on freedom that come from this regime.
