"Trump lost against the Maine governor. He lost against Perkins Coie. He loses 80% of cases in court. Which makes those who’ve capitulated look that much more foolish, because if they’d just fought back, they would've retained what they thought they'd lose and their dignity would still be intact."
Trump forced to concede defeat
Maine's governor promised she'd see Trump in court. She just declared victory.

Why Cory Booker’s Speech Matters
Booker didn’t “accomplish” anything. He was a voice of one crying in the wilderness. And that’s how you build a dissident movement: with simple acts of witness.

Haven't called them yet, but definitely on my to-do list. I called them on the day that Schumer voted for the Republican CR, and told them Schumer needed to be replaced with anyone else.
I called my senators today and told them I want Cory Booker to be the senate minority leader.

We can’t hold hearings. We don’t have subpoena power. We can’t pass budgets. But we CAN filibuster, and we CAN change party leadership.

This is incredible. The "reciprocal tariffs" were calculated without actually looking at anything to do with tariffs.

This is the most amateur-hour crap you can imagine and it's going to straight tank the global economy.
james surowiecki has discovered where the completely fabricated trump tariff rate has come from for each country

"...for every country, they just took our trade deficit with that country and divided it by the country's exports to us."

Well, they literally just came back after a 10 day break. 10 days, staying home. The Dems had 3 months to make a plan, and haven’t.

This is, again, basically the worst-case scenario. Musk is essentially claiming that he gets a line-item veto over every line in the federal budget. If these payments were actually illegal, the place to litigate it is the courts.

And the kicker? The water from the dams doesn't even flow to Los Angeles.

After this announcement, Columbia announced retaliatory tariffs on corn. So, not only will Americans pay a sales tax on Colombian goods like coffee, it'll be harder for us to sell our goods in Columbia. (On a surely unrelated note, prices generally have not fallen since DJT took office.)
NEW: Trump is going to force Americans to pay more for coffee because Colombia refused to accept his deportation flights.

He announces immediate 25% tariffs on all Colombian goods, rising to 50% next week.

Diplomatic bullying of a supposed ally and economic self-harm.

It’s Day 6.

Worth noting that McConnell refusing to whip votes to convict Trump at his impeachment trial (or vote himself to convict) is *why* we’re now in a position where Hegseth is the Defense Secretary. If McConnell is looking for the person at fault, he might want to consult a mirror.

Footage from last year is now resurfacing of Trump promising to “end inflation” starting on “day one.”

— Egg prices are up.
— Gas prices are up.
— He is promising tariffs that will raise prices even more.

DJT's plan to lower the cost of eggs:
1) Stop providing info about Avian Flu.
2) Deport immigrants working in farms.
3) ???
4) Profit!
But, the price of eggs… seems curiously unchanged.

Egg prices hit record highs this week.

Much of the increase is the result of egg shortages brought on by avian flu.

How has Trump responded? By ordering public health agencies to cease communications with the public.

His presidency is a threat to our health and our wallets.
