How Australia Sabotaged Its Own Economy.

I watched this last night. Nothing really new here but an excellent summary of Australia’s short termism, that I have seen all my GenX life.

A good appraisal of issues that no politician would even mention or the Australian MSM would even ask.

I can see Greenland fighting the US expansion!
I fear that the Australian governments will happily 100% capitulate. Because I suspect they already have and we’re already in phase 1. AUKUS 🤔🤫 www.bbc.com/news/articles/c1lnzzd1zrmo.amp

Australia’s heat risk brought to you by Labor and the LNP. We keep cooking while they make profits for their mates.

We have 12 months to take this unconstitutional legislation to court and end it. Hopefully the anger will translate into less votes at the next election too, The only opportunity the public has to take end the duopoly before Labor/L/NP election rigging laws come into effect.

The Australian Social Media legislation is one of the most draconian infringements in young people's rights and has no possible way of being properly enforced.

Labor are the party of fossil fuel interests. The only difference between the L/NP and them is their gaslighting efforts.
The latest greenhouse gas emissions figures show Australia emits more gas now than when the government was elected.

But the govt wants us to believe we are "on target" to achieve 43% cuts below 2005 levels by 2030.

Enough with the spin: we need to stop approving new coal & gas mines *now*.

The proposed electoral reforms are on hold.
Labor and the Liberals nearly agreed to spend $82 million of taxpayer funds on their campaigns while blocking new entrants from parliament.

I heard the Libs balked at the lower donation disclosure threshold.

The Libs love dark money.

Why am I thinking this applies to Australia government’s as well. The majority of politicians are certainly personally profiteering from their positions.
OK, let's see lots of examples of this marvellous just announced 2024 Word of the Year. Starting off: "virulent enshitification has infected ABC Sydney radio with the sacking of Sarah MacDonald and Simon Marnie"

I can’t be the only one who thinks this article could of been written by a Labor Party staffer. It runs with their line about siding with the L/NP. It’s clearly biased reporting that frames Labors power to manipulate parliament as a positive to pass useless bills. www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

Is democracy important to Labor party support?
Or is your party winning at any cost the important thing?
To be clear the cost here, is the erosion of democracy.
"Labor & Coalition politicians are rushing through legislation without proper scrutiny, that will deliver tens of millions of dollars in additional public funding for the major parties, while tilting the playing field against independents & minor parties."
