The Discord server does a solid job of keeping the chuds out (especially after female Custodes caused them to migrate from 40k), so I'm fairly hopeful the community as a whole will push hard to keep it that way

I don't think it'll ever be as suited as 40K for long chunks of narrative where you get to root for Your Guys in the struggle against Those Guys, but that's also probably downwind of 40K playing with such a big sandbox that losing a planet isn't always a massive stake

The community throws a bunch of whimsy back into it, but I get bouncing off the relentless grindark
