Happy to have contributed a piece on the far right to the anniversary report of the Karlspreis. The impact of the far right does not only depend on seats or government participation. Their success erodes support for international collaboration because other parties accommodate and legitimize them.

Lots of great work has been done on populism in world politics, but there's still lot to do to understand the international implications of the far-right.
Similarly to Tarik's point, these parties don't just want nationalist policies and less cooperation. They target global governance mechanisms.
Academics and the media need to make sure that those in power understand what the current threat is and how imminent it is. In Europe and the UK, too. People need to understand that this movement is not about legitimate policy concerns. They don't just want less immigration and single sex spaces 3/
