This child used to skip school to confront the occupier during the 2nd Intifada. He'd stand in front of the Merkava and sing: "if they demolish my house, I'll not fear, if they break my bones, I'll not crawl. I'll gather my bones, my homeland, and make from them a slingshot and a stone'

Banned Toni Morrison’s Pulitzer Prize winner novel “Beloved” tells the true story of Margaret Garner who chose to kill her daughter rather than let slave owners drag her back to slavery. It was an act of love. If you can’t understand that you can’t speak about the horrors of slavery.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it frighteningly surreal that the terrible atrocities, injustices and war crimes of faraway lands that we studied in history books when we were kids are now being committed, promoted and even celebrated by our own U.S. government, on a daily basis?
