Chiton washed up with the king tides. Also saw the snout of a seal… whitish gray with dark spots.

Ran out to the beach late last night to go tidepooling. Thanks to the winter’s king tides the lowest low tides are late at night. Sharp wind kept revealing the moon and constellations above. Headlamps revealed constellations below. Lots of big chitons, lots of crabs. Only one orange sea star.

The orcas were too far west to see more than spouts, but we did have a juvenile bald eagle come check us out.

A seal peeked up at us.
