I visited a wildlife garden and it was *full* of ladybirds this year. It was so great to find so many after barely seeing any several summers in a row. 🐞🐞🐞🐞

Barn owl in a hawthorn tree 🦉🌸🌙✨
I’ve been sharing my work in progress, so happy to share the final painting today.
Barn owls were also known as ‘ghost owls’ due to their silent flight & white faces, so I paired my owl with a hawthorn, the mythical ‘fairy tree’ in Ireland ✨

Finding joy is an act of defiance in tough times. On 20th Jan, my illustrator friends & I sat down together in our different time zones, ignored the news, put away our iPads, grabbed our art supplies & painted for fun together. It’s now become our regular art session. Finding light in the dark 💫
