Tirotta's defensive numbers are a nightmare, Pinango is slated to be a milb FA and 40-man spots are at a premium (his defense also isn't good) and Macko can't throw strikes. Schreck hits LH and is redundant unless someone gets hurt. Yesavage hasn't even been tested in AAA...

Overpowering less advanced hitters than he saw in college is doing him no good at this point.

He needs to move up, and he needs to start regularly mixing in a third offering.
Trey Yesavage (TOR) struck out 12 across 5.0 IP as he leaned on his fastball/cutter combo to stifle batters. He now holds a 43.3 K%

He is due for a promotion!

It's important to note, Jake Bloss threw 38 pitches, mostly high stress offerings, in the 1st inning and 73 through 3.1 innings before his elbow gave out.

By my count, the #BlueJays lost 12 pitchers to TJ last year.

And they don't appear to have learned much.
Jake Bloss is headed for UCL surgery.

Specific surgery type (TJ vs brace vs hybrid) and timing TBD. But he’s done for the year.

I guess throwing a massive amount of sliders as a starter is bad thing (especially when you have a sorrid injury history)... huh, weird.

In 56 AAA appearances last year, Fluharty only went 2.0 innings 7 times. He's never pitched more than 2.0 innings except for his final appearance of 2022 when he went 2 1/3 innings.

His ceiling is essentially a 6th-7th inning guy.

Not someone you'd see on most Top 30 prospect lists

#BlueJays
Mason Fluharty is my No. 19 #BlueJays prospect.

He’s a deceptive lefty who can pitch multiple innings and just gets outs.

When I mentioned him to development staff and coaches in camp, multiple people would hear his name and just say: “Big leaguer”

#Bluejays taking outfield reps right now - Schneider and Santander in LF, Straw and Springer in CF, Lukes and Roden in RF.

I’m expecting Lukes to get the start in CF tomorrow, but don’t be surprised if it’s Springer.

Daulton Varsho played CF in a minor-league game yesterday, but didn’t throw.

Typical American ignorance. Blue Jays had a larger payroll than Boston and was within striking distance of PHI and LAD but they're not "the big five."

Not to mention they offered more $$$ for Ohtani than everyone but LAD.
Two questions dominate the MLB offseason: Which team will sign Juan Soto? And for how much?

@mikepetriello.bsky.social Is there a way to generate season-long pitcher breakdowns for milb players like you can from individual games?
