I finished The Vegetarian by Han Kang and I am giving it ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

My favorite line:

“She watches the streaks of rain lashing the window, with the untouched steadiness unique to those accustomed to solitude.”

The writing is beautiful and the theme of bodily autonomy is so relevant.

While I’m still chipping away at 2 fiction, 1 nonfiction, and 1 beta book, I finished Sing Anyway by Anita Kelly ⭐️⭐️⭐️

A cute quick queer read starring a “capital F Fat” FMC and a nonbinary nerdy professor with tropes like, identity, found family, and healing through music

My number finally came up at the library and I got to read We Used to Live Here by Marcus Kliewer. Giving this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 stars

This was such a unique book. It was confusing, spooky, graphic, queer, and totally unpredictable.

Just finished The Z Word by Lindsay King-Miller! I give this book a 3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating.

Though some of the plot was predictable, I really enjoyed this book and the writing!

How do you feel about annotating? Have you tried it?

Just finished reading and annotating ON TYRANNY by Timothy Snyder. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

On Tyranny is informative, approachable, and pulls no punches. It gives actionable steps to fight tyranny with global examples of its methods to take hold.

Just finished SISTER, MAIDEN, MONSTER by Lucy A. Snyder. I give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️

It follows the stories of a three women during the new PVG pandemic that leads to the apocalypse.

It’s a graphic body horror. I enjoyed how intertwined the stories were, but I found the ending disappointing. 💙📚 #booksky

Just finished reading Diary of an Oxygen Thief by Anonymous. For me it’s ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Check trigger warnings before reading. The narrator is a mysoginist who had his heart broken by a woman and decides to take his alcohol fueled anger out on every woman he can. #storygraph #bookreview

For profit insurance is immoral. Full stop. An insurers' job isn't to "protect from unnecessary care"; it is to pay for customers care. Every dollar of profit earned is a dollar that didn't provide care to the sick/injured. It is an evil industry captained by the soulless for the sake of the greedy.
