Long-term slow traveler, bookworm, introvert. London is always my happy place in spring and autumn. Currently, Antalya is my favorite for summer and winter.
Hostinger's AI Horizons is the absolute worst website builder I've seen in >20 years.

There are changes only it can make & if you run out of "messages" to tell it what you want, those elements can't be changed until the next month unless you upgrade.

No way to do it manually.

I'd advise stay away

Weird to watch power go out as I filmed, first across the mountain and then in my studio, but the noise...

Trump's govt full of clowns has both made the U.S. the laughingstock of the world and is scaring the shit out of everyone with their stupidity and ineptness.

In my wildest imagination, I never believed life could be this surreal. My immediate family is not large, but they're all looking to escape.

I left Turkey on Monday and some of the commercials I see on social media are still in Turkish. I don't mind, they're easier to ignore that way for some reason. It's just irksome bc idk why it's happening. Probably a location setting somewhere but I can't be bothered to find it at the moment.

Please remember something: if you had said a year ago that Trump would do even a fraction of these things, you would have been mocked, belittled, accused of “Trump derangement syndrome,” and dismissed by certain people.

Identify those people and block and shun them.

Back to the States in a few days for 2 weeks. I think I had some kind of psychotic break when Trump was elected again. I've gone beyond not my president to not my country. I worry about my family there but the US literally feels more foreign to me now than Turkey.

Me: Why is my left arm and shoulder sore?

Also me: *scrolls through Instagram after waking while laying on my side holding phone so perfectly still that my watch adds over an hour to my sleep time*

What I'd love to know, though, is did she just not think through to how future employers might look at the way she took control? Or did it not occur to her that other studio/production companies would hear about it? Hollywood can be like a small town, I bet her actions were all updated in real time.
Ugh. Fell down the IEWU rabbit hole. Here's my hot take. Regardless of anything else, Lively's career was pretty much over the first time she threatened to not show up for work. That was so insane it probably spread like wildfire. Who'd risk the budget with someone who'd f*ck the shooting schedule?

Well, I obviously don't have to worry - yet - that this place will become the time suck that Twitter was for me, I haven't even checked in for the past 7 days. Hope to find a middle ground, though, bc I really do like it here. Even if just to read and not post, which is what I do on Instagram daily.

Trying hard to ignore politics on here, but 2 quotes in this Guardian article address what I've been saying for years. Basically, Dems win when we turn out, but voters don't turn out anymore just bc the alternative is worse. Dems need to listen for a change.

Mentioned to someone yesterday that I started traveling full-time in 2015 and they noted it's almost 10 years. Doesn't feel that long. I did skip part of 2016 bc I lived in CA with my sister in her camper and a few months of the pandemic, most of which I spent in an unusually empty Mexico City.

Unsettlingly, it's also starting to feel a little weird to say "we" and "our" when referring to the US and ppl who live there. Idk if it's bc I've been traveling internationally so long or bc of what's currently happening over there, but for some reason, I'm feeling a bit countryless at the moment.🤔

I still find it so weird that the UK has Black Friday sales. It's date depends on a holiday created by the colonies that the UK doesn't have.

We should adopt Boxing Day in return, so ppl have the day off to return unwanted gifts and shop after-Christmas sales, which is our December 26 tradition.

People are often surprised when I tell them this: both Twitter and Facebook/insta/threads are now specifically engineered to downgrade, hide, suppress real journalism. If this platform is different, that's a huge change
Traffic from Bluesky to @bostonglobe.com is already 3x that of Threads, and we are seeing 4.5x the conversions to paying digital subscribers.

Just went to Threads to let my tiny number of followers know I'll be deleting my account and how to find me here. Got an error message saying Threads isn't available in Turkey. I'm in Albania. There is a lot of Turkish coffee here, but I am quite far from Turkey. So wtf?

One feature I'd like to see on here is the ability to mute quote posts from ppl we follow.
November 28, 2024 at 2:29 PM
Idk why, but there is more Turkish coffee in Albanian grocery stores than I've seen in Turkish grocery stores. Also, there are multiple little Turkish coffee pots where I'm staying in Tirana, but the Antalya Airbnb I go to on Monday has a French Press. I use neither bc I drink instant, but wonder...

I have to say, I love this place but I hate the word skeets. I plan to just say posts, but I don't mind if anyone says Tweets. After all, Twitter is officially dead. I left a while ago, are they calling posts xeets over there now?
Sorry I’m just going to call posts on here tweets

I once read through a long post that included the woman's wedding and her grandfather dying before I found out about "Jump to recipe".

The comment section gets amusing when someone tells the author they didn't really care for the recipe after detailing the multiple substitutions they made to it.

I love hearing this.
I can’t tell you how different it is on X now after so many people have left. I have always followed mostly right-wing accounts because I cover them, and they are running out of people to pick fights with. So they’re just mostly fighting with each other.
