Why don’t more people care Medicaid will be cut? Maybe because they don’t know they’re on it…

Via "One First," me on why Stephen Miller's riff on suspending habeas corpus is not just factually and legally wrong (in multiple respects), but reflects a dangerous escalation in the Trump administration's rhetorical attacks on the courts:

148. Suspending Habeas Corpus
In response to adverse rulings in numerous immigration cases, Stephen Miller is raising the specter of suspending habeas. His argument is factually and legally nuts, but it's worth explaining *why.*

More people using United Health’s Medicare Advantage resulted in a worse-than-expected Q1. UHG CEO called it “unusual and unacceptable" & argued the problem was fixable.

How do they fix it you ask? Deny, delay, reduce network size, reduce access to UHG and more.

I’d say this is unacceptable!
Why we hear warnings about Medicare Advantage, explained.

They had lawyers, trials, most were given pretrial release, allowed to testify in their own defense, got discovery, could call witnesses, could cross-examine witnesses, could present mitigation at sentencing, and had a right to appeal.

My family got these payments when my dad died at 34 years old after serving in the Navy for a decade from what he had paid in. I was five. Jeanine is an incurious ignoramus. Thanks @jessicatarlov.bsky.social for correcting her, which is God’s work.
Jeanine: We found out there are people who are between the ages of one and four who are getting social security

Jessica: That's the benefit for kids whose parents are dead.

The fact this man ‘can’t’ be released and returned to the US should terrify everyone, regardless of citizenship status. Yes, I’m looking at you, natural born Americans.
A Maryland man who was in the U.S. legally was deported to El Salvador and imprisoned there because of an "administrative error," Trump administration officials said in a court filing on Monday, adding that U.S. courts lacked the jurisdiction to have him released.

Rep Maria Elvira Salazar on CNN says about those involved in the Signal leak ‘they’re new at their jobs’.

So, they’re probationary employees? We all know what that means.

American war planning usually takes place in highly secure facilities. But the Trump administration planned its strikes on the Houthis using a group chat—and accidentally included The Atlantic’s editor in chief, @jeffreygoldberg.bsky.social. theatln.tc/AmsjsuT6

CEO pay is up 1,085% since 1978, while typical worker pay is up just 24%.

Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?

‘ Who are we here for?’ is not the question our Reps (national or state) should be asking. This is a case of pure intimidation to achieve the party line, not help constituents-who they are ‘here for’.
