1. He doesn’t want people who do their jobs, only what he tells them to do.

2. He wants to privatize everything so he can give contracts to his friends and donors.

3. Less oversight means he can get away with more.

Agree 100% with Brian on this.
Worth noting that McConnell refusing to whip votes to convict Trump at his impeachment trial (or vote himself to convict) is *why* we’re now in a position where Hegseth is the Defense Secretary. If McConnell is looking for the person at fault, he might want to consult a mirror.
