So it turns out the rogue A/////I trying to kill me is just the automatic correction bolus function of my insulin pump.

Finally, my first and only jewel set, Elixer. It fits into the purple dice pattern, but I have no idea where I’d use this combination of dice haha.

But finally-finally, the bonus mint d20. It’s a nice soft color, but mine looks a little more blue imo.

Next up is Lunaris. This is only the second lucky bag I’ve gotten from Dispel (the other was Gothic Cathedral) but I seem to mostly get purple sets from them. Not complaining though, since purple is my favorite color and I have a couple characters who have purple as their main palette color.

First of the lucky bag sets, City Pop. This is a set I would have never bought on my own, but I actually have a character whose dice palette is mostly rainbow sets, so that’s a win I think.

Aaaaand I did manage to get one of the lucky bags. I got two 7-piece sets and a jewel set, and somehow, the bag truly was lucky and I didn’t have any of these yet.

Next up, the Pointy Hat collab set, Arcane Constellations. I totally don’t have too many celestial-themed dice sets for my stars druid (I might be getting to the point where I have close to too many sets for said druid).

Dispel time! The “tentacle kitten” tote and set is up first. Displacer beasts are my favorite DnD monster, so of course I waited in line for over an hour for this.
August 5, 2025 at 8:08 AM
Next, the Ravenloft thing continues with the DnD 50th anniversary I-6 set. The set minus the big D20 is kinda boring but it’s worth it for the box and coin imo.

First up, the yearly CC set. The purple is translucent and while I wasn’t able to curate, I did grab one with some really nice windows.

Ravenloft box part triple. One thing I appreciate about these is how they break the book down into smaller, more portable booklets. I have the Strahd box too and being able to grab just the relevant part of the book when I ran Death House for some friends was so nice.

Part two of the Ravenloft box. I remember playing a one-shot version of House of Lament when VRGtR came out that gave an Adventurer’s League reward for their Mist Hunters series that turned out to be totally useless in the end, but it was fun to mess around with the character options.

I wasn’t planning on buying DnD stuff, but when I saw that the reprint of the fancy B&G box for Van Richten’s was half-off I jumped at the chance to get it without paying shipping. Ravenloft is my favorite setting Gothic Horror was the variant I would’ve picked anyway. There’s a lot in here, so—

Part 2 of Fabula Ultima for the Atlases/supplements! I forgot about the Natural Fantasy one until I saw it at the booth, but look at that disability inclusion front and center on the cover with the Merchant class gal.
August 5, 2025 at 4:49 AM
(Don’t worry I used the code papers already.) Fabula Ultima next! The name being a play on Final Fantasy should tell you everything you need to know haha. I love how character progression requires taking multiple classes and how important Traits and Bonds are mechanically.

Keeping with the Saturday morning cartoon vibe, Monster Wrangler! I saw this online literally the night before the con and as someone who’s always loved monster raising stuff, knew I had to pick it up. The Remnant expansion monsters are my fav part, says the Virus Digimon/Dark Pokémon guy.

Up next is Perfect Draw!, a game I had stumbled across online but never bought until now. I’m a sucker for card games and the fact that this shouted out Cardfight!! Vanguard specifically as an inspiration kind of sealed the deal. I need to build my Vanguard/Buddyfight ocs in this system now.

My first book purchase of the con was the fancy version of the Blue Rose core book. A work friend mentioned this game a while back, and I went back and forth on getting it for a while. Smash cut to me buying it, reading the section on gender (from 2005??) and ugly crying while my cats stared at me.
August 5, 2025 at 4:49 AM
Not a purchase since I’ve had the book for around seven years now, but I stopped by the Chaosium booth a couple of times to get autographs from Mike Mason and Paul Fricker. It was super cool to get these for the Chaosium 50th anniversary too!

I’ve never done a Gen Con haul thing before but frankly I think picked up some pretty rad stuff this year. I didn’t book a hotel or do any paid games, so I had more budget for buying things.

I found one single Chuck Tingle novel at a Barnes & Noble yesterday and obviously had to buy it. Read the whole thing in under a day and it’s absolutely rocketed its way towards the top of my favorite books and will be going on my special stuff shelf. Love is so real you guys.

Work was so slow last night that I put together baby’s first custom mechanical keyboard. Keychron K6 Pro, Akko lavender purple pro switches, and Womier pudding keycaps for now, but I think I want to get a set of Eorzean script and job stone caps now…..

I got the FFXIV TTRPG standard rulebook deluxe edition box and it came in yesterday. I’m not sure if I’ll take pics of everything, but I did get the important part.
