I'm my cat's third human. First owner developed a severe allergy during pregnancy, second owner had family issues that interfered with giving him proper care. He wasn't broken when I met him, he'd just been unlucky.

If a cat has the manual dexterity to puff a cigarette, they can also use your keys. Cigarettes are the least of that cat's humans' problems.

I read a lot of Anne Rice in middle school, and also all the Pern books, and was simply left with an understanding that sometimes authors have interests that you, the reader, will bounce off of.

It does kind of blow my mind when parents are told to monitor. My own parents saw my right to read what I pleased as sacrosanct.

My immediate thought is that perhaps both ends were pointed to allow a hunter to stick the spear in the ground while waiting for prey to come close to an ambush location, rather than need to hold it.

I have a theory that the two types of musical acts most likely to attract a crowd at a Wisconsin farmers market are a) polka, and b) ant Mexican style influenced by polka. Wisconsin craves the oom-pah.

That's the thing that makes me think that there's really something to the extinction burst reading of our current crisis. See also how none of them will just flatly deny Trump being in the Epstein files. They know they're not untouchable. They expect consequences.

You can try to reach MAGA on religious grounds, but I'm afraid that right now they aren't listening. They refuse to see anyone outside their own narrow little worlds as their neighbors.

As someone who qualifies for their stupid metric, I firmly consider myself less American than any person who just went through their naturalization ceremony. They earned it! I was just born here.

This is how I find out that my state (WI) can fine you for even offering to tattoo a minor. Though I suppose a $200 fine isn't necessarily enough to truly dissuade a determined influencer who wants a tatted up kid.

Pierced ears are generally seen as okay since piercings will ordinarily close up if the child subsequently decides they don't like them. IMO it's best practice to wait and use it as 'baby's first big bodily autonomy decision', but it's not child abuse.

If the average conservative Christian was like Phil, the world would have a much fonder view of Christianity. I don't agree with him on many things, but I trust the guy to remember the humanity of others.
