We carried out a survey of bacteria in Mammoth Cave, Kentucky using DNA analysis. Previous studies had found several species selected by culturing (Rusterholz & Mallory, 1994), but we compared rRNA sequences to find bacteria that cannot be isolated on petri plates. 🧪🦇🧬

My New Age begins with a huge and wonderful revelation: DNA analysis identified a half sister I never knew about! We’ve met and spent Christmas at her house to meet the new family. We’re all very happy about it, and it helps me cope with the loneliness of losing both my mother and wife.
