As a chronically ill person, I still mask. For my own safety. Covid isn’t gone, and is still actively disabling people. I am disabled because of covid.
Not only is masking super awesome and even fashionable, it protects you and your loved ones. So please, wear a mask <3

The Sick Times does extremely important work reporting on studies and news relevant to the #ME/CFS #pwME and #LongCovid communities. I have become a monthly supporter, and encourage you to do the same if you can.
We’re over halfway through our end-of-year fundraiser, and we’re not where we need to be to keep our vital work going. We have three weeks left to hit our goals of $60,000 and 200 monthly supporters.

The #LongCOVID community needs us — we need you! the-sick-times.fundjournalism.org/donate/

Leslie Lee III, an educator, critic, and Long COVID advocate, died on November 10.

“He was one of the few voices in leftist spaces that refused to buy into COVID denialism," Taylor Lorenz told @mileswgriffis.bsky.social. "He was such a strong voice..."

Yeah... I have 3 globally recognized IT certs, and I can't get a callback on a job I applied for. And the few times I do, it never goes beyond the "quick chat" with the recruiter. I've been looking for work since 2021, before I even lost my last job to long COVID paired with role elimination.
When writing this piece, I kept thinking back to this Instagram post I saw from a trans woman the other day. This is what I'm talking about. Watch this:

Yeah this person harassed me for like two weeks for telling them their AI squirrel had human ears. Mangajojo is either a bot or a sock puppet for some troll.
Someone from the Covid cautious community added me to “the worst trolls on Bluesky” block list. Are these Dave people or what?

Australia's Heart Foundation just launched an info campaign on the harms of COVID to cardiovascular health - good to see!

But current vaccines only reduce risk of heart damage, they do not eliminate it. We need masking, clean indoor air, better prevention & next gen vaccines

What an unacceptable impediment to global surveillance of SARS-CoV-2. 👎
On Oct 1, 2025, GISAID informed us that they had ended updates to the flat file of SARS-CoV-2 genomic sequences and associated metadata that we had used to update Nextstrain analyses since Feb 2020. GISAID's stated rationale was that their "resources are limited". 1/5

Another disabled activist has been taken by Long Covid, and ableds are still having discourse about whether or not mask wearing is still valid.
You know, I'm extremely angry about what happened to Leslie. This was the last tweet he wrote before he died. This is such a fucked up, selfish society that we've normalized mass infection, stigmatized public health, and put disabled people through hell. Things didn't have to be this way.

We often hear 'the #pandemic' in the past tense, but #covid infections are causing massive harm to health and economies. Reduce risk through #ventilation, #filtration and wearing an ffp2 or #ffp3 respirator mask. These actions reduce the likelihood of all airborne infections.
