The diplomatic "achievement" of the ceasefire was to recalibrate the tempo of the genocide sufficiently to get it off the front pages and the news bulletins, thus alleviating the political pressure on Israel's western accomplices.

Archaeologists at Pompeii uncovered a fresco depicting a meal of a flat bread round covered in herbed cheese (called 'moretum'). That's right, a PROTO-PIZZA.

But modern pizza, as served from Tokyo to Rome itself, was probably invented in New York.

Let's talk about the "Pizza Effect".
Pompeii fresco find possibly depicts 2,000-year-old form of pizza

They're one of a handful of terrestrial species that are truly *transparent*, neither scattering nor reflecting light. This aids in camouflage in any environment, an alternative to mimicry.

Excellent reporting from Heated and Atmos.

It looks like some of the biggest investors in the anti-trans movement are fossil fuel billionaires who are trying to use trans issues to ensure that Republicans pass policies favorable to their industry.

Died (alas and alack, too young!) on this day in 1569, in Brussels, the incomparably wise, witty, & plain brilliant Pieter Bruegel. Here in 1565, being skeptical about mental capacity of art buyers.
