This is the kind of defense I only run when my client is guilty but I'm hoping for nullification. Sure, it's "battery on a law enforcement officer" in a technical sense but is that what those words mean to you, juror?

The fact that we sent all those dogs and chimpanzees to die developing space travel really seems like a waste if all it led up to now is Billionaires jerking off recreationally in low orbit.

A truly insane Florida thing nobody is talking about is Palm Beach County sending $135 Million dollars to Israel through a bond purchase to support Israeli war efforts.

It only differs from a lynching in that there was a jury, official records were kept, the process was open to public scrutiny, the defendant had lawyers for his defense, the judge was independent of the prosecution, proceedings were conducted according to law, and sam bankman-fried is still alive.

There's a lot of outrage about this in ALAA, the union that represents workers at every other public defender office (and many other offices) in NYC. I have to imagine Victoria's former colleagues at New York County Defender Services are busy signing union cards today.
A public defender in Manhattan, Victoria Ruiz, was forced out of her job at the last non-union public defender office in NYC after the NY Post & right-wing organizations led a public campaign against her for tearing down a poster. Here's her statement providing context:

Police PR people are definitely taking note of the "human shields" rhetoric and we'll be seeing more of it to justify police shooting bystanders in the near future.

As someone who's generally thought Biden has done much better than I expected going into his Presidency, the Gaza crisis is the first time in his Presidency I've thought he clearly did worse than a different (non-Bernie) Dem likely would've under the same circumstances.

One very depressing fact is that even if the pressure campaign was successful, and Biden 180° pivoted to demand a ceasefire from Israel, Israel would almost certainly ignore it.
