Exactly. He's the leader. It's his caucus. He was negotiating with the GOP the entire time. He just got the votes he needed for it, from people who will face no repercussions from the voters, so Dems could support it while he votes no for show.

It doesn't matter. The UK's increasingly vicious and irrational conniption about plastic patriotism, immigrants, non-white people, & trans people, & its seeming desire to be America's cucked lapdog in every respect will lead people to vote for Reform anyway, no matter how hard their lives get.

Also frustrating how people will apparently excuse any manner of racist, misogynistic crap if you're just sufficiently talented enough. It's like dangling a shiny object in front of a magpie.

In fact, X-Men is so well-known now as a LGBT+ allegory (in no small part thanks to the efforts of Ian McKellen), that I think in many respects that's more well known than the fact it began as a Civil Rights allegory. But it can still be read as both, and more.

For sure, but I think the best tropes are ones that can be read in many different contexts. The Matrix for example, a well-known example of a trans allegory, but it works in the context of anyone who is unsure of themselves and who/what they want to be. X-Men is another good example of this.
