On the left, we fetishize protest too much. It's sexier to wave a flag in front of a police officer, but it doesn't do much to win rights. It's much less glamorous to lobby in the cloakroom to kill a bad amendment for trans Americans, but in the end has far better impact than protesting.

But hey, I guess it feels good to have the righteous anger of prioritizing loser wedge issues like sports instead of ensuring most trans people don't lose healthcare coverage for gender transition. McBride's politics has a hope of success, radical extremism a-la her critics does NOT.

The struggle session, I mean 'criticism' from you guys, is unhelpful, not based in reality, and does nothing to further trans rights. While anarchists/communists on Bsky are attacking her for being a lib or whatever, she saved countless trans people from losing healthcare.
