Freedom from military occupation, arbitrary taxation and our elected legislatures not having binding power were the stated reasons for the American Revolution.
The New York Times publishes a handy guide to which federal forces are terrorizing us at any moment. This is America, 2025.

Why does Trump hate America? Reason #3: we believe in free speech. He doesn’t and wants to shut us up (but it won’t work). #trumphatesamerica

People in the administration should keep in mind that they won’t be in power forever, and they will be forced to atone for their lawbreaking.

The story of how Trump sells access to the White House - to benefit himself and his family financially and to benefit his political operation - is shocking and sordid.

No President has ever monetized access like Trump has.

1/ It's a story you need to know.

I just finished reading “How To Lose A Country” by @ecetemelkuran.bsky.social
Well worth reading even though we (USA) are already several steps along the way to losing the US as we have known it. And because we are. #authoritarianism #democracy

trying not to exceed 2 intra-popular front mutual recrimination posts a week, but devoting 1 to say:

seems clear that posters endlessly skeptical of "white supremacists/nationalists" and the like as descriptors of Trump/GOP are either dipshits who don't know what is going on or racists who do
Adolf Hitler's “Mein Kampf” is still on U.S. Naval Academy shelves. “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” and “Memorializing the Holocaust” are not.

An order by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s office led to a purge of books that are critical of racism — but preserved volumes defending white power.

Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

As of Friday, there have been 46 cases in which federal judges have blocked Trump policies.

The rulings in those cases have come from 39 different judges appointed by 5 different presidents (of both parties) to 11 different district courts across 7 different circuits.

Maybe it's not the judges?
